About The Position

Companion Animal Medical Center is a full-service small animal hospital in Shreveport, LA, dedicated to high-quality, compassionate care for dogs and cats. We combine modern medicine, surgery, and diagnostics with a collaborative, supportive team culture. Position Overview We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian (new graduates and experienced clinicians encouraged to apply) to join our busy, growing practice. You will provide medical, surgical, and preventive care; work with experienced support staff; and help maintain excellent client communication and patient outcomes. Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Active, unrestricted Louisiana veterinary license (or eligible to obtain)
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills; comfort with routine soft-tissue surgery required
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical exams, diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgeries for dogs and cats
  • Communicate effectively with clients about diagnosis, treatment options, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols
  • Participate in emergency rotations (schedule based) and on-call duties as needed
  • Contribute to practice growth and community outreach
