About The Position

Join us as an Associate Veterinarian at Dr. Sam’s Veterinary House Calls! You will be empowered to do your best work with a team you can count on. Dr. Sam’s Veterinary House Calls is a progressive, growing, privately owned and operated veterinary practice that also offers mobile veterinary care. We are looking for a team-oriented, enthusiastic, small animal associate veterinarian who places a priority on helping to deliver high quality medicine to our patients and a positive relationship to our clients. Our small team-oriented practice focuses on low stress handling to the benefit of our patients, clients, and staff. Dr. Sam’s Veterinary House Calls is a full-service veterinary practice with a standing clinic located in the Lehigh Valley (Allentown area) in eastern Pennsylvania. Our medical care encompasses everything from new puppy/kitten exams, to sick pets, to hospice care. We utilize a variety of portable diagnostic equipment, including mobile radiographs, mobile ultrasound, and portable cold therapy laser. Working in home allows us to foster close patient and client relationships, while our clinic allows us the option to see patients in clinic and to perform surgeries and procedures.

Requirements

  • Passionate veterinarians dedicated to providing high quality levels of patient care
  • Curious lifelong learners who want to grow and thrive in a dynamic and fulfilling career
  • Collaborators with excellent communication skills who enjoy working as a team
  • Empathetic caregivers seeking to develop strong client relationships built on trust
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Hybrid: Your typical day as a hybrid (in clinic and traveling) veterinarian will consist of house calls/travel appointments along with “in office” appointment/surgeries that are pre-arranged and planned out in an efficient way to minimize stress and complications.
  • Mobile: You will always have at least 1 veterinary nurse (if not 2) to travel along with to assist during appointments. They will also have the responsibility of keeping supplies/drugs stocked in vehicle, allowing you to focus purely on what you do best: providing excellent veterinary care, enjoying client interactions, and learning.
  • In-Clinic: A typical in-clinic day has 40 minute appointment scheduled for each patient allowing time to approach each patient and client in a way that they do not feel rushed. We focus on making the experience less stressful for everyone. There are 2 or more veterinary nurses in clinic helping to move appointments along during the day. Surgery days are usually blocked for an entire day with multiple surgeries.
