About The Position

Davis Veterinary Service is a well-established, fast-paced, 2 doctor practice located in Rensselaer, IN with a satellite 1 doctor practice in Winamac, IN. We are a full-service small animal general practice clinic with online reviews that boast about our compassionate, gentle, and informative staff! We are devoted to serving our community with the highest level of pet care by offering many services, which include dentistry, in-house labs, full body digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, surgery, and more! Our hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 8am-5pm. Our team is a tight-knit and caring group. Join us to practice big city medicine in a small-town country setting! Winamac is a small town located in Pulaski County, Indiana, with a population of around 2,500 people. The town is situated along the Tippecanoe River and is surrounded by beautiful farmland and natural scenery. The Tippecanoe State Park is 4 miles north of town. Winamac is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, fishing, and camping in the nearby parks and forests. Winamac is the home for Braunability that modifies vehicles for people with mobility disabilities. The town also hosts several events throughout the year, including a popular car show and a winter festival. The Tippecanoe State Park is 4 miles north of town. It has 23 miles of hiking trails. Despite its small size, Winamac has a rich history and cultural heritage. Winamac is known for its friendly community, strong school system, and small-town charm. It’s a great place to raise a family, run a business, or simply enjoy the peaceful pace of life in rural Indiana.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
  • Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
  • Active Veterinary State License.
  • USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.

  • Experience in veterinary medicine preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate veterinary care to small animals.
  • Perform general medicine and surgery.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Mentor new graduates seeking guidance.
  • Manage client needs and work volume, potentially requiring more than 40 hours per week.
