About The Position

VCA South Dade Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility in beautiful South Miami, FL. We are looking for a cat/dog Associate Veterinarian to join our small animal/exotics practice. We are currently a 60% exotic and 40% dog/cat practice. Our location is one of the only hospitals in Miami that treats exotic pets, so we are quite busy. Currently, our hospital has 3 DVM's working on a daily basis but we definitely have the business to add additional team members and with the new location opening early next year we anticipate having at least 4-5 doctors each day. Our doctors currently work 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts and we are closed on Sundays. We perform all types of procedures from wellness to advanced surgeries. We are in the process of building a brand new, 7,000 sq ft hospital that is being specially designed for our exotic patient's comfort. Our goal is to add a doctor by Jan 2024 and the new hospital will be a bonus next Spring to anyone joining the practice. We currently have digital radiology, ultrasound, digital dental radiographs, oxygen cage, and incubators. We also have a doctor that we work closely with that performs mobile CT's and Ultrasounds for our exotic patients at our hospital. Our technician team is very strong, dedicated and they have years of experience with exotics as well as dogs/cats. The doctors are scheduled with two veterinary assistants to assist them and we are quite busy. We work closely with Jungle Island, Monkey Jungle, Pinecrest Gardens, Fisher Island, Petco, PetSmart, Pet Supermarket and several rescue groups that have large cats. We see a large variety of species from mice to primates. It is definitely not your regular practice; you really never know what is going to walk through the door.
