About the position
Zurich Middle Markets has delivered double-digit growth over the last four consecutive years, and we strive to exceed that growth in the years ahead! We've been dedicated to assembling a team of dedicated Middle Market leaders and underwriters who understand this space very deeply and who grasp the unique challenges of the various industry segments and the individual customers we serve. We are looking to add to our team in the Midwest Region by hiring an Associate Underwriting Manager. You will serve as a customer advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience by understanding their unique risks and offering the best end-to-end solution for their Middle Markets Technology insurance needs. This is a remote position based out of Milwaukee, WI. In this role you will manage a select team of skilled Property and Casualty production underwriters while also being an individual contributor with your own strategic book of business. This position requires you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and to be in the office on a regular schedule to lead team collaboration days. You will be expected to travel as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships in the Midwest region. This is a critical role in driving an engaging team culture. This role requires strong technical skills, staff development and sales execution mindset. This role requires 25% of Travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage a select team of skilled Property and Casualty production underwriters.
- Serve as a customer advocate to improve the customer experience.
- Understand unique risks and offer end-to-end solutions for Middle Markets Technology insurance needs.
- Be visible in the marketplace to meet with agents and brokers.
- Lead team collaboration days in the office.
- Travel as necessary to support team needs and cultivate broker relationships.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.

- Established Producer relationships.
