About The Position

As an Associate Underwriter, you will provide support to our Underwriting Team. This position is designed to teach you the ropes of property and casualty underwriting and how we work as a business. You will be responsible for reviewing inspections, approving policy changes, and responding to inbound calls and chats from agents. This is a fast-paced position that will prepare you to become an Underwriter. This position is a 100% remote U.S. based opportunity that can be based in one of the following states only: AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI. Some travel for day-to-day work, team meetings, and training will be required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working in the P&C or commercial insurance space.
• You have previous experience in a customer service-oriented position.
• Must be proficient with MS Office, Zendesk, and other internal insurance related programs, systems, or applications. (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively using programs such as Slack & MS Teams. You are comfortable sharing screens and video chatting.
• Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
• Designated quiet work from home space.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

• Producer license preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for reviewing a high volume of new business and renewal inspection reports for risk eligibility across multiple states.
• Issue non-renewals or cancellations and conduct reviews for reinstatements.
• Partner with internal departments to accurately resolve requests from agents to maintain Swyfft’s expected service guidelines.
• Accurately authorize endorsements through Zendesk as needed.
• Providing a great customer experience by answering inbound calls and chat requests from agents.
• Partner with internal team members on underwriting-related projects.
