  • Has responsibility for renewal pre-qualification to determine if non-renewal, conditional non-renewal or other notice needs to be issued.
  • Solicit renewal information from brokers 90 days out from expiration.
  • Handle all aspects of renewal business, including terms, pricing, retention, growth and profitability per Seneca guidelines.
  • Analyze any changes in exposures to determine acceptability and increased hazards. Use independent judgement and initiative to support business goals.
  • Maintain underwriting discipline by maintaining bottom line underwriting philosophy.
  • Remain within designated authority and seek approval as needed.
  • Document files appropriately with complete underwriting thought process.
  • Verify loss history and consult claims division for feedback prior to evaluating renewal terms, if necessary.
  • Assess risk quality and compliance within company guidelines and initiate appropriate loss prevention actions.
  • Develop and maintains effective business relationships with clients in order to retain profitable business.
  • Place reinsurance according to corporate guidelines.
  • 2+ years of Insurance Experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills required.
  • College degree or equivalent experience is preferred. ARM and CPCU designations are a plus.
