The Associate TPM Project Engineer works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Vascular Division. This is a fully onsite role. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. The Associate TPM Project Engineer is an engineering professional who applies scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics, and ingenuity to complete assignments related to a specific technical field or discipline.

  • Plans and conducts small- to medium-size assigned projects within engineering specialty requiring conventional types of plans, investigations, and/or equipment.
  • Coordinates and monitors activities/projects.
  • Reviews plans and monitors status of implementation for those assigned to project.
  • Makes judgments regarding quality of implementation within discipline.
  • Employs contingency plans to recover from schedule slippage and financial overruns when appropriate.
  • Facilitates the definition of a project scope with clients.
  • Estimates and coordinates resources needed (materials, budget, time and people) to accomplish assigned individual tasks.
  • Prepares contingency plans and budget for assignments.
  • Participates in economic analysis and feasibility studies related to project alternatives.
  • Jointly responsible for achieving the project's financial targets in support of business objectives.
  • Creates/modified designs for intermediate problems.
  • Designs/modifies more complex components/processes.
  • Writes detailed design specifications.
  • Predicts patterns/trends, grasps complexities, and sees relationships among data.
  • Analyzes problems from multiple perspectives.
  • Interfaces primarily with internal company contacts (Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, R&D).
  • Prepares written communication and conveys information effectively.
  • Establishes networks and follows through on project goals.
  • Identifies full range of customer/client needs and proposes solutions to address them.
  • Complies with all regulations and standards for Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Energy (EHS&E) Global Policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or closely related discipline or an equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in related industry or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Medical Device Experience Highly Preferred.
