What We Do As an Associate Title Examiner at First American, you will play a vital role in ensuring that real estate transactions, from office buildings to multi-property portfolios to residential properties, close smoothly and securely. Under the direction of experienced team members, you will analyze public records, verify ownership, and identify potential title issues while collaborating with underwriters and clients. We will give you the tools, training, and support to thrive.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of directly related title insurance experience in title searching and/or examining.
  • Understand relevant legal and real estate terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/Pro, internet, property data platforms, and the ability to learn company systems.
  • Excel at analyzing complex information and solving problems independently.
  • Highly organized and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven, and paperless environment.
  • Clear and professional communication with a customer service mindset.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of projects that range in complexity from single to multi-property commercial & residential transactions where every detail matters.
  • Search, examine and connect data across counties and jurisdictions.
  • Verify legal property descriptions, including reading, and interpreting.
  • Review and analyze public records such as deeds or similar to determine ownership.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information through careful research and documentation.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and internal partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the title process, as needed.
  • Summarize findings and setup orders for placement with title abstractors, considering current/future state of the property(ies) and transaction type.
