About The Position

Montare Behavioral Health is seeking Associate Therapists for its Mental Health Treatment Centers in the Tarzana area. This role involves working in residential mental health treatment centers that offer a nurturing home-like atmosphere. The primary therapist manages a diverse caseload, providing comprehensive counseling and therapeutic services including individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and aftercare planning. The company offers regular supervision and mentorship to support professional growth and ensure high-quality client care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from accredited social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology program.
  • Registration with State of California Board of Behavioral Health as an associate or licensed therapist with number.
  • Able to maintain a professional manner with all staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Able to work in a fast paced setting under pressure, and maintain open and proper communication.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to relate harmoniously with staff and clients of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds
  • Experience in providing direct services to individuals, families and groups.
  • Good Computer skills.
  • Ability to navigate an Electronic Health Records System.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, and strong boundaries with the clients.
  • Completion of a Background Check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption and a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508) for mental health and eating disorder programs.
  • Clean Background is required.

  • Experience working with mental health clients in a residential treatment setting preferred
  • Experience working with veterans a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for individual, group and family counseling sessions to discuss effective coping skills and assist clients in navigating their mental health diagnoses.
  • Conduct client psychosocial assessment, develops and monitors the implementation of individualized treatment plans, carries out client intake process, and is available to solve any pertinent issues.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including the clinical director, program director, case managers and nursing staff.
  • Provide effective crisis management and service referrals when needed.
  • Complete clinical documentation according to required timelines, including client progress notes, outcome measures, assessments and intake/discharge summaries.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and with all staff, clients, families and visitors
  • Perform any other duties as needed.
