Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Job PurposeThe Associate Test Engineer supports the planning, execution, and analysis of tests for e-driveline components and assemblies—including electric axles, inverters, clutch and shift mechanisms, and mechatronics such as actuators, solenoids, and sensors. Responsibilities include hands-on work with e-dynamometers and bench testing equipment, basic troubleshooting, and assisting in the continuous improvement of testing processes and conducting quality test reports. The Associate Test Engineer works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to help ensure product reliability and performance standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or related field).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a testing or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude; exposure to drivetrain or electromechanical systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems beneficial.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems).
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with dynamometer testing, vibration analysis, and instrumentation is a plus.
  • Exposure to electromechanical systems or drivetrain components preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAN Bus is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of dynamometer and bench test equipment for e‑driveline components.
  • Perform basic pre- and post-test inspections and document findings under guidance.
  • Support execution of tests to validate reliability and performance, following established procedures.
  • Help acquire and analyze test data and assist in preparing accurate test reports.
  • Support troubleshooting of test benches and instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment, and parts to maximize test uptime with direction.
  • Assist in development of fixtures and auxiliary equipment for testing.
  • Participate in productivity improvement activities.
  • Support training of lab personnel on safe and proper equipment operation.
  • Contribute to design and improvement of test benches and data acquisition systems.
  • Provide occasional off-shift support and work overtime/weekends as needed.
