Job Overview BD is seeking an Associate Territory Manager (ATM) to execute field level surgical case support and professional training plans that help achieve annual sales targets. In this role, you will work closely with field sales and Marketing teams, traveling 80% of the time to build strong customer relationships with physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, office staff, sales personnel, and other hospital personnel. If successful, this opportunity can lead to a formal Territory Manager position with responsibility for an assigned region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years of general sales experience preferred
  • Experience working in a team environment, particularly with sales professionals
  • Ability to work in an operating room environment
  • Strong interpersonal, oral communication, organizational, and planning skills
  • Good judgment and maturity
  • Willingness to relocate to fill an open Territory Manager position
  • Ability to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of needs analysis approach to sales, product buyer concept, and contract administration
  • Knowledge of principles of group purchasing, research, and proposal formulation
  • Ability to discuss products in relation to the human body
  • Familiarity with medical and surgical terminology
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with field sales on the logistics, timing, strategy, and execution of customer training and technical support for clinical cases
  • Support the development of regional physician proctors and centers of excellence for training activities
  • Conduct training and in-servicing for hospital surgery staff and support personnel
  • Provide support for regional marketing events, conventions, and symposia
  • Maintain equipment, advertising, and promotional materials in an orderly manner
  • Complete paperwork thoroughly and on time, maintain accurate account records, and utilize sales funnel for goal setting
  • Acquire comprehensive product knowledge and apply it to adequately conduct in-service education
  • Manage relationships with District Managers, Territory Managers, and customers
  • Plan sales calls and organize time for effective territory coverage
