Requirements

  • BS in Engineering: Chemical, Packaging, Plastics or Industrial with an emphasis on Plastics/Polymers. BS in Chemistry or Polymer Science with appropriate emphasis may also qualify.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Work.
  • Demonstrate skills in organization, attention to details, setting priorities and sound decision making.
  • Strong work and personal ethics
  • Effectively communicate and work alongside company personnel on all levels ranging from production workers to upper management
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented, and fast-paced environment.

  • Sound judgment and decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety culture within the plant as a strong representative of the technical team
  • Support safety procedures, protocols, initiatives, and training requirements
  • Ensure item master accuracy specific to sales order requirements, QC checks and customer expectations
  • Support sample quality review and checks
  • Support A3’s, complaint reviews and data discovery
  • Support various quality and product safety audits
  • Daily walkthrough of the plant with a focus on reviewing quality and specific KPI criteria
  • Support and attend appropriate plant meetings Support and drive to improve all specific operational KPI’s
  • Support sample runs at the production line with assistance from appropriate technical personnel
  • Support new raw material investigation, reviews and substitution efforts
  • Develop film line understanding with the ability to diagram and explain/identify typical problems
  • Develop a clear understanding of resin properties, additives and impact on film and product
  • Product Life Cycle Support: lab testing, data analysis, formulation review, quote, ERP item set up, sample support
  • Develop understanding of film grades most frequently manufactured at the plant
  • Participate in weekly and monthly technical team calls
  • Under direction of direct manager, support specific cost avoidance projects and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by direct manager or corporate leadership
  • Be able to manage & prioritize multiple projects/tasks in order minimize response time
  • Demonstrate a continuous professional attitude with all levels of internal and external personnel
