As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders. Requirements

  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Team oriented; highly detail oriented and meticulous.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Balance creativity with technical capability.
  • Interpret design sketches for tech packs.
  • 2 - 4 years experience in technical design of apparel in knits and sweaters.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM Adobe products, computers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the seasonal design and merchandising process by providing strong technical design support for in-category styles.
  • Ensure on-budget, on-time delivery of quality goods.
  • Support the design team through a thorough physical inspection of all goods designed.
  • Work closely with Design to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction.
  • Conduct fit sessions, making recommendations for fit and construction issues.
  • Collect and advise fit sample comments to vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on style and fit approval process to meet all deadlines.
  • Address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designers.
  • Own communication of development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches and/or pattern corrections.
  • Make recommendations on how to organize and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines.
  • Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction.
