Associate Tech (2nd shift 3:00 PM – 11:20 PM) As an Associate Tech on the 2nd shift, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment. Working within multidisciplinary autonomous teams, you'll drive operational efficiencies, adopt new technologies, and ensure adherence to industry regulations. You'll embrace Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required, based on production demands
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace digital opportunities and work independently as well as an effective autonomous team member to support schedule attainment demands, including prioritizing and time management skills
  • 6+ months’ experience using automated inventory systems or equivalent computer systems (i.e. SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Microsoft office Applications, etc.)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English language
  • Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) environment
  • Demonstrated ability and technical skills to successfully set-up, changeover, operate, troubleshoot, diagnose, clean, and maintain multiple pieces of complex packaging lines equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment with frequent production schedule changes due to customers’ demand
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, follow instructions regarding workplace documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operator Manuals, Work Instructions, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making in day-to-day operations
  • Good mathematical aptitude in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric system
  • Creates impact by realizing authentic self and purpose, and includes others: respects differences, embraces inclusion and shows up as the best self
  • Good Computer skills, including use of e-mail, Microsoft Applications, Employee Self-Services HR on-line tools, iPads, Digital Apps, production performance systems, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory arena involving GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Bayer standards are essential

Responsibilities

  • Support development of the diverse, inclusive talent pool where members share and support each other to build their expertise in autonomous teams’ environment

  • Ensure safe work environment by following all safety procedures, workplace standards, company guidelines, and ergonomic practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout Tagout equipment, standard operating procedures (SOPs) applying to a particular process or work area
  • Ensure following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (OSHA) in day-to-day operations
  • Maintain, clean, and organize work area using 5S practices and participate in safety improvement projects. Participate in on-going occupational health surveillance programs as required
  • Adopt technological advancement and embrace production agility with digitally enabled mindset to quickly react to changing customers and consumers needs in fast paced market trends
  • Assist with technical troubleshooting and predictive / preventive maintenance tasks as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement mindset by taking actions to safely reduce equipment setup and changeover times; initiate and establish equipment operating parameters to maximize production, while meeting all product specifications
  • Use the Product Supply Systems (PSS) digital tools and support packaging lines operational efficiency (OEE) improvement initiatives in day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with all other production employees and support functions employees to establish priorities and deliver products meeting the deadlines
  • Ensure the timely execution of the production schedules outlined by cluster leads and teams
  • Perform the daily set-up and routine operations of the packaging lines, including but not limited to: Bottle in-feed, dispense components, Unscrambler, Filler, Bottle Capper, Torquer, Labeler, Vision Systems, Weighing Systems, Bar Coding Systems, Sealers, Case Packers, disassembly / assembly of change parts, Cleaning, resolving equipment stoppages and jams etc.
  • Use Business Operating Systems, SAP, MES, EBRs, and other digital tools to record production results, material movements, yield determinations, and other process data
  • Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment for assigned material movements including stocking operations, palletize finished goods, and properly dispose of waste product, material and containers
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, GMP standards, and industry best practices across all packaging processes
  • Ensure to complete all GMP and non-GMP training before assigned due dates
  • Ensure product quality by performing in-process checks, AQLs, complying with cGMP, being alert for unacceptable quality of incoming and outgoing materials, initiating quality improvements, and participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Accurately document production process steps, production results, equipment in-process checks, samplings, cleanings, components used, and any other required cGMP information on the appropriate documents (paper and/or electronic)
  • Communicate quality and other non-compliance issues to supervision in a timely manner
