Make an impact with a purpose-driven industry leader. Join us today and experience Life at Visa. The Role: Building the Future of Developer Productivity Are you passionate about the intersection of Generative Ai, code, infrastructure, and Developer experience? We are looking for an ambitious, technically minded new college graduate to join our Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) Product team dedicated to optimizing the Developer Experience (DevEx) for our internal engineering teams. The Developer Experience unit in O&I is on a mission to provide easy, intuitive, and reliable experience for Visa developers to consume O&I products and services. You will act as the voice of our developers, transforming friction points and operational pain into intuitive, scalable, and high-quality internal products. You will move quickly from problem definition to low-fidelity solutions, using modern tools to accelerate the entire product lifecycle—from Discovery to Delivery. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact on the velocity and happiness of every engineer in the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Science, Data Science, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, graduating May 2025 - August 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in Product Management, Software Engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Foundational understanding of software development, basic programming concepts (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go), and familiarity with core infrastructure components (e.g., Cloud computing, APIs, version control/Git).
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking principles or experience with UX aspects ranging from UX Research to Usability tests.
  • Experience with a modern Product Management toolset (e.g., Jira, Notion, Figma).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Personal projects that demonstrate an understanding of developer tools or infrastructure (e.g., building a personal API, CI/CD pipeline, or CLI tool).

Responsibilities

  • DevEx Audit: Continuously interview and observe internal engineering teams to identify the biggest areas of frustration, operational toil, and workflow bottlenecks. Translate these qualitative sentiments into measurable metrics, clear problem statements, and validated hypotheses.
  • Vibe Coding for Rapid Prototyping: Employ modern 'vibe coding' techniques by using natural language to direct AI assistants. Your goal is to rapidly generate functional code for prototypes, API mocks, and CLI concepts.
  • Requirements Generation: Define clear, concise, and technically grounded user stories, acceptance criteria, and API requirements for new platform capabilities, infrastructure tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • User-Centric Integration: Integrate usability studies, research, and internal consumer pulse into product requirements to enhance developer satisfaction and product excellence.
  • Partner with Engineering: Work daily with O&I engineering teams to prioritize the backlog, clarify technical decisions, and ensure the delivered product meets the high standards of performance and developer usability.
  • Technical Literacy: Dive deep into O&I technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, serverless functions, monitoring solutions, internal SDKs) to understand technical trade-offs and drive architectural discussions toward the best long-term DevEx outcome.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use product scorecards to analyze metrics that inform the success of technical products. Monitor health metrics (e.g., Mean Time to Deployment, build stability, service usage) to identify opportunities for iteration and quantify the impact of delivered solutions.
  • Leverage Generative AI: Actively use available internal or external services for tasks like generating mock data, summarizing user research transcripts, analyzing system documentation, or rapidly prototyping UI/CLI concepts.
  • Own the Lifecycle: Drive the entire modern product lifecycle for internal services—from ideation and testing to deployment and decommissioning.
