About The Position

WHAT YOU'LL DO Teach engaging, creative curriculum and lessons, aligned with Avenues' expectations and approach Lead English literacy curriculum, including phonics curriculum, differentiated reading groups, and writing units of study Co-plan mathematics instruction with head teacher and lead English mathematics lessons and student work centers Collaborate closely with a team of English, Spanish, and Chinese immersion teachers to continually improve student learning and school culture Experience conducting formal and informal assessments and analyzing student data to inform instruction Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment ease in effectively prioritizing multiple tasks and competing demands Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills Participate actively in ongoing professional learning Help to build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a joyful community Foster strong relationships with students, families and parents

Requirements

• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in Kindergarten
• Solid understanding of early literacy and math pedagogy and instruction
• Deep dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching
• Superb ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals
• Curiosity and humility, to reflect, welcome feedback, and continually grow in teaching practice
• Bachelor’s degree required, master’s candidates in early childhood or bilingual education strongly preferred
