MahoneySt Paul, MN
2d$84,000 - $105,000Hybrid

About The Position

As an Associate Manager, you will play a key role in leading and delivering high-quality tax engagements while serving as a trusted resource for clients and internal teams. You will review tax returns prepared for small business clients, including partnerships, S-Corporations, and sole proprietorships. This role will take on advanced partnership-specific work, including allocations, partner capital account maintenance rules, partner basis and related basis adjustment calculations. You will also work directly with investment tax credits, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credits (HTC), and interpret partnership agreements to understand how profits and losses flow through these entities. As expertise grows, you will leverage your growing technical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (e.g. power queries, data modeling, advanced pivot tables, advanced formulas, dynamics arrays), to analyze financial data and prepare and review complex tax workpapers. You will assist in tax projections, estimated tax planning, transaction scenario analysis, and other tax consulting services for our clients. Leadership in this role is collaborative, and communication-driven. You will guide staff development through training, mentorship, and constructive feedback while serving as a technical lead who supports the team in multiple ways in producing high-quality work. Beyond being a strong leader and communicator, our Associate Tax Manager must build trust with clients by building rapport through engaged and thoughtful conversation, asking informed questions, and translating intricate tax concepts into clear and practical guidance. Consistently meeting deadlines is essential because timely delivery builds client confidence, supports engagement planning, and demonstrates reliability throughout the compliance cycle. Your ability to stay organized, responsive, and proactive will enhance the client experience and contribute to the team's overall success. Additional work hours are required from January through April 15th.
