The Associate Systems Support Specialist is responsible for installing and supporting standard and nonstandard endpoint hardware and software technology (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, etc.). This position sets up and coordinates all audio-visual events before, during, or after normal business hours; coordinates and completes computer workstation moves; maintains inventory of all company hardware and software, including asset management, receiving and storage; performs new device imaging and configuration; manages vulnerability patch management via modern endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM); performs software and hardware troubleshooting; supports IT-related projects; and provides afterhours technical support.

Requirements

  • Must be detail oriented
  • Minimum 1 year of IT support or PC troubleshooting experience required; experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern endpoint hardware/software environments including cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID), collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, SharePoint), and related enterprise systems.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with end users.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 (Office) suite required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, near completion or equivalent experience
  • A+ or Network+ certification preferred.
  • PowerShell or Python scripting experience is preferred but not required; familiarity with basic automation and endpoint management scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, logs, and accurately tracks details of incidents and service requests submitted to the Help Desk via ticketing system, including status updates and resolutions.
  • Primary contact for all hardware and software inventory
  • Handles device imaging, provisioning, and configuration using endpoint management tools; ensures timely deployment.
  • Documents nonstandard configurations and installation instructions.
  • Installs desktop computer hardware and software including upgrades.
  • Identifies, remediates, and documents security vulnerabilities on endpoints and network nodes using patch management and endpoint detection tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Qualys).
  • Troubleshoots standard and nonstandard desktop hardware problems and coordinates the repair with the appropriate vendor.
  • Provides support for all on-site and remote users via remote desktop tools (e.g., Microsoft Remote Desktop, Teams, Zoom); ensures users have proper device setup and connectivity for hybrid work environments, including VPN and cloud application access.
  • Communicates with System Support Specialists and the Help Desk Director regarding the status of projects; escalates any issues to the director.
  • Participates in a 6-week rotating on-call schedule to provide afterhours support and 24x7 coverage for the helpdesk
  • Assists with computer operations duties including batch processing tasks on an as-needed basis; training provided.
  • Provides occasional assistance with TV studio broadcasting operations, including basic setup and support of cameras, switchers, and AV equipment as needed; training provided.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
