About The Position

As an Associate Systems Engineer Nights with HCA Healthcare, you will provide technical skills that cover a broad range of data center disciplines. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of data center infrastructure. This role requires fundamental troubleshooting skills and a basic knowledge of Data Center practices, including an understanding of Data Center security such as HIPAA and SOX.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
• Fundamental working knowledge of server hardware components including processors, memory, disk drives, and RAID controllers.
• Good working knowledge of copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows OS, Unix/Linux, and VMWare ESX.
• Limited 24x7 on call troubleshooting and repair.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications such as ITIL and Server +.
• Experience with applications/software/tools like Microsoft Office, Fluke, Remedy, and Nlyte.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical skills covering a broad range of data center disciplines.
• Responsible for installation, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of data center infrastructure.
• Demonstrate fundamental working knowledge of hardware platforms including Dell, HP ProLiant, Cisco UCS, and IBM P-Series.
• Manage inventory of all assets and components in the data center.
• Communicate changes and progress on assigned projects; complete projects on time and within budget.
• Exhibit confidence and inspire others; provide training and mentoring to junior level employees.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and meet commitments.
• Uphold and enforce organizational values and Data Center specific standards.
