You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in. We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy Associate Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role focuses on supporting and managing end-user device solutions, assisting in maintaining IT systems, and delivering responsive technical support across the organization. Ideal for recent graduates or junior professionals eager to grow in systems administration and device lifecycle management. Location: This position is remote for candidates located in the local Newport News, VA / Hampton Roads area. While primarily remote, the role includes rotational on-site support approximately once every 6-8 weeks, and initial onboarding will take place on-site during the first few weeks.

  • Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
  • Assist with device provisioning, configuration, deployment, and updates using tools like Microsoft Intune or similar MDM platforms.
  • Support device security compliance, encryption, and access controls.
  • Monitor and respond to support tickets, documenting issues and resolutions accurately.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions through Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Troubleshoot device connectivity, software, and hardware issues.
  • Maintain inventory records for hardware and software assets.
  • Support IT projects including hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and rollout of new technologies.
  • Assist with system backups and routine maintenance schedules.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Solid understanding of Windows and macOS environments.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) platforms, especially Microsoft Intune.
  • Basic knowledge of networking (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
  • Understanding of security best practices for end-user devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, Zendesk).
  • Exposure to scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices or Help Desk workflows.
