About The Position

Join Lightspeed Systems as an Associate Systems Administrator and become a vital part of our dynamic Management Information Systems (MIS) team. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support to resolve issues related to operational systems, applications, corporate endpoints, and critical business systems that power our organization’s daily operations. You’ll play a key role in managing and deploying corporate endpoint devices, overseeing user identity management and provisioning, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our core systems. As a member of the MIS Department, you’ll help maintain the seamless operation of the technology that keeps our teams productive and connected. You’ll also leverage modern automation and AI-assisted tools to enhance efficiency, streamline troubleshooting, and improve documentation across MIS workflows. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or technical degree in an IT/IS-related field, or equivalent work experience, with 1+ years of experience in help desk, information systems, or a similar technical role.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, AWS, Windows Server, macOS, Unix, Linux, shell scripting, PowerShell, and VMware technologies.
  • Experience in managing network systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Knowledgeable of domain systems management and related roles (DNS, DHCP, NPS, RADIUS, et al.)
  • Experience with documentation and training of complex systems to non-technical audience.
  • Basic understanding of network management, cloud systems management, endpoint security, patch management, and backup management.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Foundation concepts.
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered productivity and assistance tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for technical research, scripting assistance, automation support, and documentation.
  • Ability to think creatively and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, driving issues to resolution and then logging and documenting both cause and resolution.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail with both excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to accomplish projects within specified deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Fortinet firewalls, switches, and VPNs is desirable.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to resolve issues related to operational, application, and business systems, as well as corporate end-user devices.
  • Respond to, update, and maintain service desk tickets.
  • Collaborate with Systems Administrators and Senior Systems Administrators on assigned tasks.
  • Administer and maintain internal network and computing systems.
  • Manage domain and directory facilities, along with related roles and functions.
  • Perform system and software updates for upkeep and administration.
  • Monitor and audit security logs and services for managed systems.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining software updates, firmware updates, and patches for MIS systems.
  • Enforce administrative access controls, as well as security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge base documentation for IT support.
  • Assist with Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID user and group management.
  • Onboard and offboard user identities across multiple systems.
  • Assist with deployment and management of end-user computing devices, related hardware, and accessories.
  • Manage monthly departmental expenses.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Respond to on-call outages based on outage type and on-call rotation.
  • Support daily operations of the MIS department.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to aid in troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and research of technical issues, following company security and data handling guidelines.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, or operating low-code/no-code automation workflows (e.g., n8n or similar tools) to streamline repetitive administrative or operational tasks.
  • Identify opportunities where automation or AI-enabled tooling can improve system reliability, support response times, or internal processes.
