Associate - Strategic Threats Program Manager

About The Position

Global Security is seeking a national security professional to join the Strategic Threats program in Washington, D.C. Competitive candidates will be interested in supporting a proactive team focused on identifying and mitigating nation-state threats to the firm. This opportunity requires strong critical thinking, creativity, complex problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with partners across all lines of business and corporate functions. Experience in counterintelligence, business intelligence, competitive intelligence, or a similar field is required. This is not a cybersecurity role. As a Strategic Threats Associate within our Global Security team, you will report to the Executive Director and serve as a key member of the Strategic Threats team. You will collaborate with highly motivated colleagues to implement programs that identify and assess strategic threats—including those from nation-state actors—that could compromise the firm’s data, workforce, or supply chain. You will also help develop mitigation strategies that support well-informed business decisions. This role offers high visibility across Global Security and the opportunity to partner with a broad range of stakeholders, including cyber, legal, and compliance, to develop and deliver firm-wide solutions that enable the detection, analysis, and mitigation of strategic threats. More specifically, this Associate role will provide dedicated support to all lines of business and corporate functions by identifying nation-state threats and producing analytic risk assessments. You will engage with business stakeholders to understand their operations, vet external relationships and business activities, and provide relevant security guidance and solutions to protect the firm’s critical information. Additional responsibilities include identifying nation-state targeting of employees or the supply chain and supporting investigations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in any combination of counterintelligence investigations, operations, analysis, business intelligence, competitive intelligence, and assessing complex threats from nation state actors and insider threats.
  • Experience leveraging critical thinking skills to strategize and demonstrate “out of the box” thinking and creativity in order to solve complex problems and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in effectively understanding, analyzing, and communicating complex risks.
  • Ability to handle a high level of pressure associated with complex projects in a demanding customer environment.
  • Strong communication, writing, and analysis skills, with a focus on attention to detail and producing concise analysis.
  • Ability to leverage multiple data sets and tools to support complex research and analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills with the ability to influence people who do not report to you in order to achieve results.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective and compelling presentations using PowerPoint and conduct data analysis.
  • Minimum of an Undergraduate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Establish collaborative partnerships with global security, CTC (Cybersecurity and Technology Controls), and other partners to help identify and mitigate potential nation state-related threats to the firm.
  • Provide dedicated counterintelligence support to all lines of business and corporate functions.
  • Develop and deliver education and awareness materials related to strategic threats to the firm.
  • Use multiple databases and designated tools to conduct research on various threats facing the firm, particularly from nation state actors.
  • Produce analysis on specific risks, threats and contribute to other strategic analysis products.
  • Conduct research and analysis in support of nation state related investigations.
  • Support the controls environment, data integrity, metrics, and trends analysis.
  • Communicate complex strategic threat issues in a way that is understandable to a variety of audiences and present structured senior management program updates.
