About The Position

The Associate State Director of the Kansas SBDC network provides essential financial, operational, and programmatic support to the Kansas SBDC network, which is hosted by Fort Hays State University. This network consists of a statewide array of centers hosted by universities and economic development organizations that deliver business advisory services, educational programming, and research to both prospective entrepreneurs and established small businesses. The Associate State Director plays a pivotal role in program management, financial oversight, and reporting, ensuring that the Kansas SBDC network operates effectively and meets its objectives. In this role, the Associate State Director is expected to be a mission-driven, dedicated team player who is committed to fostering excellence throughout the Kansas SBDC network. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines. The primary focus is to support the Kansas SBDC network in facilitating the delivery of services that empower program customers to achieve significant results. The responsibilities of the Associate State Director encompass program management, financial management, and reporting. This includes supporting network centers and staff in developing and delivering customer-focused services, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, managing tools and resources, and providing oversight to staff in Southwestern and Central Kansas. Additionally, the Associate State Director will manage the SBDC network budget, prepare financial reports, and oversee data reporting to program funders, ensuring that all financial and narrative reports are accurate and submitted on time. The position also involves developing policies and procedures to guide SBDC service delivery and financial management, as well as analyzing data to assess and enhance services and program impact.
