How you will make an impact The Associate Specialty Account Manager supports the execution of the approved brand strategy through an overlay or developmental assignment, partnering with (Sr.) SAM / Executive Business Manager in high-volume territories or owning emerging markets and/or pilot opportunities. This role builds foundational specialty knowledge in Urology, Endocrinology, and/or PCP marketplace and core selling skills while delivering compliant, high-quality customer engagement under the close guidance of the Regional Sales Manager. The Associate Specialty Account Manager is responsible for driving demand through targeted account planning, effective clinical dialogue, and consistent execution. This role builds relationships with key targeted HCPs (Urologists, Endocrinologists, PCPs and staff) and is accountable for increasing the prescribing of Halozyme products and consistent, sustained territory performance. The successful Associate Specialty Account Manager is skilled at presenting with company-approved materials and maintains a solid level of knowledge of the condition and/or disease states along with the specifics of managed care insurance plans and state and federal payer programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two or more years of pharmaceutical selling experience or related outside sales experience.
  • Knowledge of managed care and prescription pull-through tactics.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a business Amex corporate card.
  • Proficient communication, selling, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply insights into execution
  • Demonstrates change agility in implementing new strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to effectively manage a large, dynamic geographic territory assignment.
  • Knowledge of sales enablement tools such as: Tableau and Veeva

Responsibilities

  • Sales Execution & Results Utilize company-provided data and materials to deliver company-approved compliant sales presentations to target prescribers and their office staff.
  • Possess the market, business, and product knowledge to gain access to target prescribers and engage in productive sales calls.
  • Educate physicians and nurses on how the Halozyme product is labeled, and how to teach patients to self-inject.
  • Coordinate and deliver lunch sales presentations and dinner-speaker programs to educate physicians and staff.
  • Exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Account Management & Pull Through Build an in-depth knowledge of managed health care plans, as well as state and federal reimbursement policies, to ensure that access to Halozyme products is not impeded.
  • Partner with account to ensure appropriate pull-through and patient access strategies.
  • Build a product business relationship with local and state specialty societies, and provide them with tools, resources, and information.
  • Compliance & Administration Utilize and track FDA-regulated samples in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time.
  • Complete all required training and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidance documents, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Collaboration Collaborate effectively with Commercial Home Office, Medical Affairs, Key Opinion Leaders, and healthcare professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
