This individual will be responsible for leading operational support of the Vendor Management Program for a portfolio of vendors within the Trust & Advisory practices at Northern Trust. This role will interact with vendor managers at the Business Unit (BU) level as well as other internal teams involved in the TPRM (Third Party Risk Management) program. Will lead activities such as formulating goals, objectives, and timelines; will collaborate with management to understand requirements; and will analyze market and industry conditions. Works independently within broad guidelines and policies; receives guidance in complex situations. Major Duties: Serve as assigned Practice vendor managers for all aspects of the TPRM program and required templates/documents Complete, track, follow up, and monitor timely completion of the required TPRM documents, with assistance from BU subject matter experts Conduct periodic training sessions to assigned subject manager experts on the requirements and changes to the Northern Trust (NT) TPRM program Perform Quality Control/Audits (QC/A) and activities required for review & approval by either internal to the team or by the TPRM program Resolving escalated issues and monitor timely resolution Perform reporting to BU Senior Management and other NT internal groups on the status, issues and risks of the program for the assigned region. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives

Requirements

  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines; understands how own area integrates with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; explains difficult or sensitive information in a manner that aligns with audience; skilled at building consensus with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to generate complex reports.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change in a high demand environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as data analytic tools including Power BI.
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance or Risk and/or other appropriate academic major is highly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Sr. Analyst/Consultant with a public accounting firm or large financial institution; or other relevant business/industry experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with vendors/clients in a Risk/ Vendor Management practice.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects with manageable risks and resource requirements; experience building project teams and functioning as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
