About The Position

The Associate Specialist, Manufacturing Automation is responsible for supporting process automation and IT systems that facilitate vaccine manufacturing operations. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop automated processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain automation systems. The Specialist will also engage in troubleshooting, process monitoring, and documentation to optimize manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or related field with 2 years of experience in process automation.
  • High School diploma with 5 years of experience in process automation.
  • Highly developed communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in PLCs (Allen Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Siemens S7), SCADA, DCSs (Emerson DeltaV), Werum Pas-X MES.
  • Experience with Batch Reporting software, OSI PI, ASI/Field/Profibus.
  • Networking, Virtual Machines, Database management, and general IT administration.
  • Experience in biologics, vaccine, or bulk sterile manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with Computer System Validation and new facility start-up.
  • Regulatory inspection presentation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for design reviews, process hazard assessments, and quality risk assessments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop automated processes and complete successful qualification of equipment/process.
  • Support technology transfer of vaccine manufacturing processes to new facilities.
  • Author and update technical documents for automated process design and qualification.
  • Maintain automation systems in compliance with cGMPs.
  • Evaluate automated systems and develop strategies for optimization and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify trends, and monitor processes.
  • Develop and execute automation change control processes.
  • Communicate with business, technical, and quality representatives.
  • Support process improvement projects and complex manufacturing investigations.
  • Provide technical support for complex problems in manufacturing.
  • Develop and manage standard operating procedures and work instructions.
