Intrepid Studios is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our Cloud Services team. This role is perfect for bright, motivated developers with Python and C++ experience who want to work on cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and game backend services. This position offers the chance to learn Golang and gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), GKE/EKS, Helm, Minikube, and more while supporting the build, deployment, and scaling of cloud services that integrate with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5).

  • Develop & Maintain Cloud Infrastructure – Work with Kubernetes (Minikube, GKE, EKS) to ensure reliable and scalable cloud environments.
  • Automate & Optimize – Write Python scripts (and learn Go!) to automate developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management.
  • Build Cloud Services – Assist in building and maintaining scalable backend cloud services that support game development and online gameplay.
  • Integrate Cloud Services with UE5 – Ensure seamless integration between cloud-based systems and the Unreal Engine game environment.
  • Manage Deployment & Infrastructure – Help maintain and improve Helm charts for deploying cloud applications and infrastructure components.
  • Support Build & Testing Pipelines – Contribute to automated testing and build pipelines to maintain high-quality cloud service releases.
  • Monitor & Improve Performance – Analyze logs, metrics, and performance data to optimize system efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Work with game developers, infrastructure engineers, and production teams to enhance cloud service functionality.
  • AS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with cloud technologies or a strong desire to learn (Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).
  • Interest in learning Golang for cloud service development.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset – ability to automate tasks and improve workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for gaming and technology – Enthusiastic about game development, cloud infrastructure, and the future of online gaming.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE/EKS, Minikube), Helm, or Terraform.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with UE5.
  • Competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure.
  • Base salary for this role is between $80,000 - $112,000, depending on skills and experience.
