New York Life is looking for a Software Engineer to join the technology team to design and execute the company’s modern software development strategy. You will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build applications in the Client Prospecting Value Stream in a hybrid environment encompassing on-prem solutions and cloud hosted applications and platforms.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience on the Harness platform, driving end-to-end CI/CD implementation, governance, secrets management, deployment strategies, and multi-environment release orchestration.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes. Build, deploy, and operate Java Services on AWS EKS.
  • Proficiency in Building Pipeline scripts, cross-platform scripting languages, build tools, and repositories (Maven, MSBuild, NuGet, Groovy, Artifactory)
  • Strong UNIX/Linux platform expertise and shell scripting knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with following AWS services: Lambda, ECS, EC2, EKS, APIGateway and CloudWatch.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform Cloud, to create/update IAM policies, roles, and other AWS resources such as S3, EKS, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Sound communication and inter-personal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and developing enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot is a plus.
  • Experience in deploying code to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and knowledge of MuleSoft Dataweave.
  • Sound knowledge of AWS Aurora / PostgreSQL databases, Schema Design, stored procedures, Query performance tuning.
  • Experience with Static Code Analysis Tools: SonarQube, Checkmarx and DAST tools
  • Sound knowledge of IDEs ( VSCode, IntelliJ, Eclipse ) and use of AI-plugins
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager/Salesforce is a plus
  • Certifications related to DevOps/AWS Platform/Java/Mule Soft AnyPoint platform is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using New Relic and Sumo Logic.
  • Work within Git-based version control workflows, including branching, merging, and code reviews.
  • Drive automation-first practices, including AI-assisted tooling for coding, testing, and operational insights.
