Associate Software Engineer Globus Medical is looking for an Associate Software Engineer who is passionate about medical device development. You will be part of a pluri-disciplinary development team of 5 to 10 engineers, dedicated to the development of a complete surgical robotic system. You are a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized and deadline driven. You also possess strong communication skills, a “roll your sleeves up” mentality and be able to work in an “agile” structure with changing priorities. The job location will be at the Globus US Headquarter in Audubon, PA (near Philadelphia). Requirements

  • Proactive and autonomous mindset supported by problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small or large teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0-2 years of professional programming experience or a Master’s degree.
  • Object oriented C++ development, including C++17 and later.
  • Development experience with or a willingness to learn Qt and QML.
  • Be comfortable using or be willing to learn standard software development environments (VisualStudio, VisualStudio Code) and GIT.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and E-mail.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills. You will be interacting with English speaking colleagues located in the USA and Switzerland daily.
  • On-site job position.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries in US and EU.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical device or life science experiences are an asset.
  • Medical imaging equipment (e.g., X-ray, CT scans, MRI) experience is a big asset.
  • TDD (test driven development)

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing specific aspects of software modules or components for medical devices
  • Deploying, maintaining and updating full stack aspects of software application for medical devices on various platforms
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting software applications in a cadaveric and laboratory settings
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting KUKA based medical robotic systems
  • Contributing to and assisting with functional testing in cadaveric settings.
  • Managing all aspects of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while remaining in full compliance with Globus software development environment (version control, toolchain, documentation tools) and quality system.
  • Executing software design verification procedures and assisting validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Periodically attend surgical cases to understand context and end user requirements.
  • Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Representing the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus.
