About The Position

This position is for a software developer within the NAV domain in Fidelity Funds and Investment Operations (FFIO). The role involves working closely with tech leads, product owners, and architects to develop and define technical strategies and designs, and to build quality solutions aligned with technology blueprints and best practices. The individual will contribute to design strategy and coding standards, translating divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex software applications, and adhering to project development policies. The Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) team provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields, preparing fund financial statements, monitoring fund trades, processing corporate actions, collecting securities income, reconciling, reporting, moving money for shareholder transactions, and managing fund liquidity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology, Information Systems
  • 1+ years of hands-on technical experience
  • Strong team player that thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Hands-on experience to collaborate with the other developers to deliver the features with quality under minimal guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick learner and a great team player
  • Proven hands-on experience with API Design and development of multi-layer architecture using Java/J2EE solutions and Spring framework
  • Hands-on in GIT and branching strategies
  • Exposure in resolving technical roadblocks involving multiple technologies
  • Proven technical skills as an individual contributor with the ability to learn with minimal guidance
  • Able to be highly productive on an agile project delivery team

  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably in the Mutual Fund environment

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the tech lead, product owners, architects to develop and define the technical strategies and design
  • Design and build a quality solution which aligns with the technology blueprint and best practices
  • Solve technology solutions by working closely with the senior developers, tech leads, architects and contributing highly to the design strategy, coding standards with the peer developers for the quality deliverables
  • Use technology skills to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications
  • Adhere to the project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies
  • Design and develop webservices, database schema, PL/SQLs, stored procedures, and transactional SQL within DB2 / Oracle databases
  • Adhere to code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing completeness
  • Help to coordinate the delivery of technical components across internal/external technical teams
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineering to implement continuous integration and deployment using Jenkins and uDeploy tools
  • Analyze code quality issues using Sonar
  • Implement application resiliency procedures using HP Operations Orchestration
  • Process management using HP Service Manager and ServiceNow
  • Maintain trusted relationships with technical and business partners
