Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an Associate Software Engineer for our Columbus, Ohio location. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-4 years of experience and proficiency developing software applications using object-oriented programming languages, preferably C#
  • Experience and proficiency working with relational database systems – including querying, design, implementation, and optimization
  • Conceptual understanding of DevOps practices and principles, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and collaboration with operations teams to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle
  • Experience and proficiency with cloud computing, including deploying and managing cloud-based applications, leveraging cloud services, and implementing best practices
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for creating, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions that provide operational stability and seamless business continuity.
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that provide consistent, delightful experiences.
  • Engages in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept/design to development to delivery and post-launch support.
  • Collaborates with product partners and business stakeholders to grasp project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software solutions which align with team strategies, standards, and guardrails.
  • Performs code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards, provides constructive feedback to team members.
