About The Position

We are seeking an Associate Social Strategy Director to lead the evolution of social thinking across our diverse portfolio of clients. Seated in Colle McVoy’s specialty Earned and Influence practice, this client-facing role operates at the intersection of strategic and creative excellence, serving as a key bridge between account, creative, media, brand strategy and analytics.

Requirements

  • Deep fluency in major and emerging social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and what’s next), including formats, algorithms, behaviors, and cultural norms
  • Proven ability to develop holistic organic and paid social strategies that ladder up to brand and business objectives
  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to evaluate, shape, and strengthen ideas alongside writers, designers, and creators
  • Experience leading audits, research, and insight development to inform strategic recommendations
  • Ability to translate performance data into clear, actionable insights and compelling client narratives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence leading senior client conversations
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working cross-functionally with creative, PR/earned, media, influencer, and account teams
  • Ability to flex across multiple brands and industries simultaneously while maintaining strategic rigor
  • Curious, culturally attuned, and proactive with a point of view on what great looks like in social today
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6–10+ years of experience in social media, preferably within an agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated campaigns across organic and paid social channels
  • Track record of building social strategies that drive both brand impact and measurable performance outcomes
  • Experience partnering closely with creative teams from brief through concept refinement and launch
  • Experience presenting strategy, creative rationale, and performance results to clients and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of insight-driven, culturally relevant social strategies across platforms for brand campaigns, product launches and always-on ecosystems
  • Translate brand positioning and business objectives into clear channel roles, content pillars and engagement frameworks
  • Define organic and paid approaches that work together to drive both brand building and performance
  • Stay ahead of emerging platforms, technologies, and cultural trends, bringing fresh, forward-thinking recommendations to clients
  • Serve as the agency’s social expert and trusted advisor in client conversations
  • Partner closely with paid and organic creative teams to shape and strengthen ideas from brief through execution
  • Write sharp, actionable briefs that inspire platform-native, culturally fluent creative
  • Actively contribute to brainstorming and concept development, refining work before it reaches clients
  • Ensure all ideas are grounded in audience behavior, platform best practices, and cultural insight
  • Serve as a creative sounding board and strategic filter to elevate the quality of social output
  • Establish KPIs, measurement plans and success criteria tied to business outcomes
  • Guide reporting frameworks and performance analysis to uncover meaningful insights
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve engagement, reach and effectiveness across channels
  • Partner closely with organic and paid creative teams to ensure insights and performance learnings directly inform stronger concepting and creative development
  • Integrate emerging AI technologies into daily workflows to support innovation, automation, and operational excellence
