And are equally committed to creating a healthier environment and planet through our sustainability efforts.  Job Summary  Directs the Lean strategic improvement initiatives for the Jersey Shore Plant and supply chain. Works in conjunction with Management and the Process Excellence team to support the overall vision and drive improvements to ensure the processes meet present and future requirements for improvements in cost, quality, delivery, growth, and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; preferred in a discipline related to business, operations, technical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
  • 5+ of relevant experience within manufacturing environment, production leadership and demonstrated operational improvement 
  • Must be self-motivated, must have excellent people skills, written and verbal communication, problem solving, coaching, training, relationship building, managing resistance and project management skills.
  • Trained in Lean philosophy, and experience in applying Lean tools and techniques
  • 5+ years of practical and successful lean sigma implementation experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Ability to motivate others through strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven project management, organization and Lean-Sigma skills specifically applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies encompassing FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), DMAIC (Design-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), COPQ (Cost Of Poor Quality) and DFSS (Design For Six Sigma).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of OSHA/EPA/safety regulations, manufacturing, and process automation, ISO9000, FDA and cGMP requirements
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods; stand on concrete floors for long duration
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize.
  • Must also be able to maintain confidentiality and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to make independent and sound judgments.

  • Must follow and comply with Plant’s Dress and Hygiene Code (SOI).

  • Excellent communicator with ability to maintain confidentiality and resolve conflicts and ambiguity

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in Lean and Black Belt in Six Sigma is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and training on Lean philosophies and tools to the entire organization and facilitates the development, follow through and adjustment of a lean strategic plan for the site.
  • Organize and facilitate Kaizen / RIE (Rapid Improvements Events) and lead cross functional teams in deploying lean/sigma methods of continuous improvement.
  • Assures that the Lean Daily Management System© is engaged and working as intended incl. Digitalization, Connectivity and meaningful metrics throughout the organization 
  • Develop and maintain meaningful lean metrics, status update reporting (all savings and Lean activities) and monitor project hopper of identified and implemented projects.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities through Equipment utilization, Scrap and Production variance analysis 
  • Leads and manages site DMAIC program and assure ongoing Lean and DMAIC training for all employees as required/necessary
  • Works closely with other Lean Leaders to identify opportunities for Best Practices sharing between sites.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
