Boeing Global Services, Distribution Business is looking for an Associate Shipping/Receiving Specialist to join their team in Baltimore, MD. This role involves completing initial verification for identification and damage on incoming/outgoing shipments, processing and confirming receipt/shipping documentation for internal/external customers, and processing hazardous goods in accordance with DOT requirements. The specialist will also validate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical shipments and maintain inventory of shipping supplies. Essential duties include placing parts in proper locations, using various tools like utility carts, computers, laptops, and hand scanners for identifying cartons, cycle counting, picking, and filling orders. The role requires printing and batching pick tickets, preparing warehouse pull and return, and scheduling, tracking, and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments to ensure proper routing and storage. The specialist will assist other departments with transport and delivery inquiries, complete export documentation and shipping manifests, including those for dangerous goods, and ensure orders are prepared properly to meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. General knowledge of governmental trade compliance and environmental regulations for dangerous goods is necessary. The position also involves arranging cost-efficient product movement, coordinating with outside vendors, participating in continuous improvement projects, loading/off-loading material, entering information into an ERP system, and picking up/delivering materials within the site. Matching paperwork to boxes and preparing orders for billing/shipping are also key tasks. The role requires the ability to lift and carry cartons up to 35 lbs and manage heavier cartons using safety tools.
