About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven individual to join the Gene Delivery & Editing Process Development team as an Associate/Senior Associate Scientist. The Associate/Senior Associate Scientist will perform bioprocessing unit operations in support of Adeno Associated Virus and Lentivirus batches at the 50-200L Pilot scale, in support of process development and early clinical manufacturing for Cell Therapy programs. The position will require upstream (mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operation) and downstream (depth filtration, chromatography, tangential flow filtration) unit operation planning and execution in a development environment. Additional duties will include buffer preparation, inventory management, lab notebook entries, data analysis, authoring technical reports, and presentation of results. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemical/Biological Engineering, Immunology, Biology or relevant scientific discipline with 2-6 years of biotechnology or cell therapy industry experience
  • Downstream processing experience using chromatography and/or tangential flow filtration
  • Strong scientific or technical writing skills
  • Excellent documentation and data management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize work across multiple projects
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aseptic processing of mammalian cell culture in biological safety cabinet
  • Experience with Pilot scale bioreactors and depth filtration equipment
  • Experience with Adeno Associated Virus upstream and downstream production and technology transfer
