Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Professor, The Associate Scientist performs experiments based on predetermined research protocols and objectives. The Associate Scientist writes manuscripts, designs experiments and conducts research related to liver function and or reproduction. Additionally, the Associate Scientist will perform a variety of research laboratory techniques with primary focus on metabolic and reproductive function, specifically with animal model of polycystic ovary syndrome. Employee may be familiar with PCOS model and CLAMS (comprehensive lab animal monitoring system). Job Details: This position requires a background check for cash handling responsibilities. Must be available on nights and weekends when needed.

Requirements

  • Ph.D and at least four years of Postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience in the study of mouse physiology, specifically related to in vivo and in vitro metabolic, or reproductive studies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Show excellent critical thinking, scholarly ability, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in required techniques including but not limited to mice handling, genotyping, cell culture.

  • Documents and reports all experimental results.
  • Completes required logs and supporting documents.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots equipment, routine repairs or notifying service personnel when more complex problems occur.
  • Performs related general duties such as ordering supplies, general lab housekeeping, and maintaining safety records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
