Optimize and carry out various cell-based virology assays for discovery and preclinical evaluation of antiviral therapeutics, including biologics and small molecules Plan and execute assigned experiments that support research activities and project goals Interpret results, proactively troubleshooting technical issues and recommending potential solutions based on personal observations and/or literature searches Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments Participate in cross-functional group meetings and present results Work closely with senior personnel as well as independently

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with BS degree in a related scientific discipline required OR 2+ years of experience with MS degree in a related scientific discipline required

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and carry out various cell-based virology assays for discovery and preclinical evaluation of antiviral therapeutics, including biologics and small molecules
  • Plan and execute assigned experiments that support research activities and project goals
  • Interpret results, proactively troubleshooting technical issues and recommending potential solutions based on personal observations and/or literature searches
  • Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments
  • Participate in cross-functional group meetings and present results
  • Work closely with senior personnel as well as independently
  • Independently plans and executes assigned experiments that support routine research activities and project goals.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced level of understanding project goals and methods.
  • Selects appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
  • Collaborates with supervisory personnel to develop routine research methods.
  • May recommend alternatives, researches new methods and techniques and proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
  • Participates in group meetings.
  • Presents results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
  • Works with minimal supervision on projects of moderate to complex scope.
  • Uses good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.
  • Develops skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of data.
