About The Position

Eyconis is seeking a highly-motivated individual to contribute to pharmaceutical development with primary focus on evaluating the performance of new delivery device components and their interactions with novel biologic formats. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or a graduate student nearing graduation with relevant research experience seeking hands-on industry experience in formulation and device development. The role is based in Redwood City, CA and reports to the manager in Formulation Development. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to generate high-quality experimental data that supports development decisions and clinical programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or M.S in Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related scientific field with 0-3 years of industry experience.
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on laboratory experience with testing equipment, such as force tester, viscometer, UV-Vis, MFI and FlowCam, is desired.
  • Deep understanding of polymer-based hydrogels, suspensions, rheology and flow dynamics, is highly preferred.
  • Experience with suspension drug delivery systems or device engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and execution of studies for understanding the physico-chemical attributes of suspension drug product during interaction with delivery devices.
  • Perform laboratory studies related todelivery device evaluations for intravitreal injections,including assessments of syringeability, usability and robustness.
  • Prepare and maintain study protocols, experimental records, and technical summaries in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, draw scientific conclusions, and communicate results effectively.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, adhere to safety practices, and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and guidelines.
