Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunology or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in molecular biology.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology methods such as restriction enzymes, subcloning, agarose gels, and PCR.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools like SnapGene and NCBI databases.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, both adherent and suspension.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to troubleshoot existing protocols and perform experiments with minimal guidance.
  • Experience in quantitative PCR (qPCR) and reverse transcriptase-PCR (qRT-PCR).
  • Skills in Western blotting, immunofluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Eurofins DiscoverX plasmid collection and fulfill requests for plasmids.
  • Design and generate mammalian expression constructs, optimizing DNA sequences and confirming in-frame fusions.
  • Utilize bioinformatics tools for cloning projects and evaluate data from external DNA sequencing partners.
  • Perform PCR on genomic DNA to confirm stable gene integration and quantitative PCR for gene expression.
  • Conduct RNA extraction and quantify gene expression by qRT-PCR.
  • Generate Biosafety Documentation and perform routine cell culture.
  • Develop engineered cells and characterize them using various molecular and biochemical techniques.
  • Conduct cell-based assays to test client molecules and report results to management.
  • Prepare and present experimental data at group meetings and support R&D functions by maintaining supplies and accurate records.
