About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented laboratory professional to provide weekend support for the Research and Development (R&D) team by performing induced pluripotency stem cell (iPSC) culture operations. This role focuses on maintaining healthy, confluent iPSC cultures through routine feeding, monitoring, and support of the differentiation process. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture (iPSC cell culture preferred), accurate laboratory documentation, and will be comfortable working independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams. This position is a Wednesday - Sunday shift with initial training occurring Monday - Friday for approximately 4 - 6 weeks before transitioning to the Wednesday - Sunday requirement. Lab-based role focused on supporting the R&D team by performing routine weekend iPSC cell culture maintenance and cell-based assays with strict aseptic technique.

Requirements

  • B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3-4 years of relevant laboratory experience. M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Extensive experience with proper aseptic technique and working within a biosafety cabinet (BSC).
  • Advanced proficiency in independently maintaining and expanding mammalian cell lines without the use of antibiotics.
  • Strong experience with single use bioreactor, flask, and plate-based cell culturing methods.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and troubleshooting abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience expanding and differentiating iPSC cell lines.
  • Experience working with PBS Biotech bioreactor systems at multiple scales.
  • Experience with cell fixation for flow cytometry.
  • Familiarity with Benchling ELN system and proper documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute iPSC culture expansion, passaging, media changes, and bioreactor maintenance independently to support differentiation procedures according to established protocols.
  • Perform routine cell culture monitoring assays to evaluate overall culture health, morphology, and confluency by cell counting, viability assessment, and imaging.
  • Conduct cell fixation on in-process and drug substance material to prepare samples for downstream analysis.
  • Manage responsibilities for multiple bioreactor systems in parallel and independently perform cell culture operations over the weekend.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and communicate any weekend process results clearly to team and upper management.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and operational procedures.
