About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist for in vitro screening and pre-clinical development to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will support execution of in vitro functional cell-based assays to evaluate the potency, mechanism of action, and pharmacological properties of biologic therapeutics. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a commitment to scientific excellence, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment. You will report to the Associate Director, In Vitro Pharmacology and will work collaboratively in a matrixed environment to drive biologics discovery while supporting rapid decision-making in a fast-moving biotech setting.

Requirements

  • B.S. and M.S. in Cell or Molecular Biology, or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
  • A strong understanding of immunology and extensive hands-on laboratory experience are essential.
  • Significant cell culture and flow cytometry experience required.
  • Proficient at fundamental cell and molecular biology assays (ELISA/MSD, AlphaLISA, and other methods).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize instrumentation.
  • Excellent organization, clear communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and deliver results within project-driven timelines.
  • Thrives working on a team and collaborating with others to achieve project goals.
  • Enjoys a dynamic and exciting work environment.
  • Detail oriented, with rigorous scientific thinking and a passion for drug discovery to improve patients’ lives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with antibody-based therapeutics is preferred.
  • Direct experience with immune cell-based assays a plus.
  • Direct experience handling human blood, leukopak processing, and PBMC isolations a plus.
  • Hands on experience isolating and/or expanding primary immune cell subsets a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize and execute cell-based assays (e.g. cell binding and/or blocking assays, functional assays, etc.) using immortalized cell lines, primary cells, and other disease-relevant cellular systems.
  • Maintain cell lines in culture using aseptic techniques.
  • Process human leukopaks, isolate and characterize human PBMCs.
  • Support day-to-day lab and experimental workflows.
  • Effectively collaborate across divisional or departmental teams and with external partners to drive projects forward and obtain test materials and reagents.
  • Present experimental data and findings during team and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure timely and successful execution of project activities in alignment with project plans and priorities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records in compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain laboratory organization and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
