About The Position

The Associate Scientist in Bioanalytical at Bristol-Myers Squibb plays a crucial role in the Pharmaceutical Candidate Optimization organization, focusing on discovering and optimizing new drug candidates across various therapeutic areas. This position involves generating high-quality analytical data, developing new assays, and collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment to address bioanalytical challenges. The role emphasizes the use of advanced mass spectrometry techniques and requires strong problem-solving skills to ensure optimal instrument performance and data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of academic or industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with High-Resolution mass spectrometers and familiarity with software platforms such as Protein Discoverer, Skyline, and Spectronaut.
  • Experience with different sample preparation procedures such as protein precipitation, immune-precipitation, and solid-phase extraction.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and solve complex technical and scientific problems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related discipline with relevant experience.
  • Experience in proteomics/protein quantitation and quantitative mass spectrometry.
  • Technical abilities to maintain and troubleshoot low flow LC-high resolution MS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Enable and ensure overall high level instrument performance for bioanalysis performed on low-flow/high resolution mass spectrometers.
  • Generate high quality analytical data in support of complex bioanalytical assays.
  • Develop or help develop new assays for the quantification of targeted endogenous proteins in biological samples using LC-MS.
  • Work in a team environment to optimize bioanalytical assays utilizing complex sample preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary research environment to address bioanalytical issues related to discovery programs.
  • Represent the department on project teams and present data at internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain good laboratory practices and documentation.
