About the position

Medela LLC is seeking an Associate Sales Representative. In this role, you will assist the regional sales manager and sales consultant handling customer-based activities, administrative tasks, logistics coordination, product training and relationship management. This is a traveling position, requiring you to travel up to 85% of the time. This is an entry level position where you will learn medical device sales in the hospital space.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales Team in the field via field rides to gain exposure and learn from the ground up the sales process.
  • Travel throughout the region, up to 85% of the time.
  • Listen and participate in sales calls to enhance sales skills.
  • Attend sales training to learn Medela's products and develop thorough knowledge of all related products/portfolio to effectively provide support to Sales Consultant.
  • Collaborate with Sales Consultants to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions, including product demonstration, training presentations and in-servicing.
  • Provide hands-on support to customers, ensuring optimal utilization and effectiveness of our products and services, including participation in trials and installations.
  • Inform customers of new and current pricing, back-orders, contract compliance and company policies at the direction of the Sales Consultant or Regional Sales Manager.
  • Assist in developing and executing strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and maximize the impact of Medela's solutions.
  • Work closely with and communicate regularly with both Sales Consultant and RSM within assigned geography.
  • Inform Sales Consultant and RSM of significant changes in customer accounts.
  • Work closely with internal teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and uphold our commitment to seamless customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support various projects as required, such as new product launches, process improvements, or customer-specific initiatives.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers, providing trusted consultation and support throughout the customer journey.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities, identifying growth opportunities and addressing customer needs.
  • Engage with local chapters of professional organizations and regional buying groups to foster connections and stay informed.
  • Work a flexible schedule and travel to meet the needs of Medela's customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related studies highly preferred.
  • Prior sales experience highly preferred.
  • Prior experience calling on hospitals preferred.
  • Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Must meet vendor credentialing/compliance demands of accounts within a given territory and must satisfy the account's drug screening requirements, including but not limited to screening for marijuana use, regardless of whether the use of marijuana is legal under applicable state law.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English.
