More about us: https://www.hach.com/about-us The Associate Sales Manager (ASM) is an entry-level sales professional who supports revenue growth through developing smaller accounts, prospecting new opportunities, and assisting Regional Sales Managers in managing strategic accounts. The ASM role is designed as a developmental position that provides hands-on training in sales planning, account management, and value selling, with the goal of progressing into a Regional Sales Manager role. This position operates remotely and the candidate should ideally be located in Northern Ohio. The role will also require regional travel (30–40%) to customer sites, industry events, and internal meetings.

Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS preferred, ideally in a science or technical field (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of sales, customer service, or technical support experience. Internship or co-op experience in B2B/technical sales is an asset.
  • Strong communication, customer engagement, and organizational abilities; motivated to learn and grow in a technical sales environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify leads, building a pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Manage a set of smaller accounts independently, ensuring retention and growth.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to new prospects.
  • Use Salesforce.com to document activities, manage pipeline, and forecast accurately.
  • Assist RSMs in managing large and complex accounts, including joint visits and proposals.
  • Build relationships with local influencers, including engineers, distributors, and consultants.
  • Participate in trade shows, customer seminars, and events to represent Hach and gather market feedback.
