About The Position

InterMetro Industries is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to join our Sales, Strategic Foodservice Department. The Associate Sales Engineer supports the Strategic Accounts business unit by assisting with technical guidance and solution development. This role contributes to the execution of the Strategic Accounts business model, through technical aptitude, design support, solution development, and the effective use and improvement of established processes. Working under the direction of senior engineering and supporting staff, the Associate Sales Engineer helps ensure customers receive effective, technically sound solutions that meet their operational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 3D CAD proficiency required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant business experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in engineering or related field
  • SolidWorks software proficiency
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop new solutions and update existing designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for the Strategic Accounts organization
  • Develop application-based layouts and design concepts, including design revisions and technical problem-solving, with increasing independence as experience and proficiency grow.
  • Assist in active sales pursuits through technical requests, rapid design updates, and layout development to enable quoting, customer discussions, and solution development.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to provide technical support, including customer calls, design reviews, and project discussions.
  • Contribute to project execution by assisting with technical coordination, task tracking, and cross-functional follow-up to help ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Supports project prototyping efforts by assisting with prototyping activities through the dedicated prototype lab and coordinating with stakeholders as needed.
  • Communicates cross-functionally with stakeholders in other departments to support technical issue resolution, information gathering, and project execution.
  • Assists with cost estimates and quoting by gathering required information and collaborating with stakeholders to develop accurate manufacturing cost projections.
  • Handles product and modified product processes, including assisting with PMA (Part Master Add) submissions, BOM validation, and coordination of drawings and requirements (design release).
  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including SOPs, templates, checklists, and internal reference materials.
  • Works within established processes while contributing ideas and support toward process improvements and workflow enhancements.
  • Contributes to field activities as needed, including site visits, audits, and application-related tasks.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of the Code of Business Ethics.
  • Contributes to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code.
  • Remains alert and sensitive to situations that could result in actions by an employee that are illegal, unethical, in violation of the Code or the policies and procedures that support the Code.
  • Reports actual or perceived violations of the Code or Company policies and procedures for appropriate action.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
