ARCs must also ensure mail security at all times and may be required to handle accountable mail, which involves collecting receipts and payments from customers. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, and ARCs must be physically capable of handling mail and parcels weighing up to 70 pounds. The USPS emphasizes the importance of maintaining a neat and professional appearance while interacting with the public. Successful candidates will undergo a background check and must pass a pre-employment drug screening. This position is part-time, with expected hours ranging from 20 to 40 per week, and the pay is set at $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
