About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC), an affiliate of University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), seeks several board certified/board eligible candidates for a new residency program. The APD's primary responsibility will be to work with the PD to coordinate and manage the monthly didactic curriculum, ensuring high-yield, board-relevant, and engaging academic content that supports resident development and aligns with ACGME standards. The role includes assisting with annual program evaluation and recruitment, participating in CCC and PEC meetings, and serving as a mentor to residents. The APD will collaborate with the Program Director to foster a culture of excellence in education, professionalism, and wellness, and support faculty development efforts related to teaching and educational innovation. OSF SFMC is a 649-bed quaternary hospital and is considered the largest Level-I trauma center for adults and children between the Chicago and St. Louis metropolitan areas. It is the 4th largest hospital in Illinois. Part-time candidates are welcome, and graduating residents and fellows are encouraged to apply. This position is an H-1B Visa Eligible Site.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree.
  • Physician licensed to practice medicine in the current state.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies).
  • Eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
