About The Position

The Associate Researcher will have a dual function: help support the laboratory operations and lead a research project. The first will include, but not be restricted to maintaining mouse colony, inventorying management, and equipment maintenance. On the other hand, the research project will include in vitro and in vivo experiments to probe NK cell-driven tumor immunity. The Associate Researcher is an entry laboratory research position, responsible for conduct of routine and standardized experiments using techniques specific to the assigned research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes and may be responsible for lab and clerical support. S/he analyzes and assists in interpreting research outcomes. Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: The goal of the Research Project is to define how ectodomain shedding regulates NK cell-driven tumor immunity, through the application of novel antibody molecules that stop the shedding of activating receptors or ligands to in vitro assays and tumor models in vivo . This project will help generate new information about NK cell biology and develop novel immunotherapies for cancer.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred, or combination of relevant research experience and education
  • 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining mouse colony by genotyping, weaning, and inventorying.
  • Inventorying management by restocking shared supplies.
  • Equipment maintenance, such as to maintain centrifuges, water baths, and incubators.
  • Furthermore, the Associate Researcher will join and present in laboratory meetings and attend institution-level seminars.
