The Associate Research Scientist will join the Gene Delivery and Editing Process Development (GDEPD) organization, focusing on the process development for the production of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), which are essential for creating innovative cell therapies. This role is integral to the LNP Platform Development team, which is dedicated to advancing next-generation LNP platforms with an emphasis on gene editing capabilities. The associate will engage in comprehensive assessments of novel technologies and methodologies, aiming to become proficient in the processes required for the production and purification of LNPs. Additionally, the role offers exposure to various gene editing technologies, fostering collaboration with diverse teams involved in different aspects of process development. Key responsibilities include executing and troubleshooting experiments related to LNP production and purification, assisting in experimental design, and interpreting data. The associate will manage sample and data flow, optimize workflows for new production and purification methods, and support the transition from research to development, including early-stage molecular assessments. Active participation in lab maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives is expected, along with maintaining detailed laboratory documentation. The associate will summarize and present findings in group meetings, contribute to team discussions, and author technical reports and study memos.
